I honestly cannot imagine someone needing or wanting more volume than the CFR pipe provides. The CFR pipe is one of the loudest performance pipes available for the V-Rod. It will also not make any more power at any RPM over the unmodified pipe.

Removing it will turn the pipe into a megaphone which will make the bike so loud that it will be unridable in most communities. It has a wrapped perforated tube to absorb some sound. 90% of the drag/loud piped Harley's fall into the second category.īack to the first question, the CFR DOES NOT HAVE A BAFFLE. The first reason uses the extra gas to make more power, the second uses the extra gas to cool the cylinder. You add fuel for 2 reasons, either you have more air in the chamber and you need more fuel to keep the proper AFR or you have a pipe that's not designed correctly and it's causing reversion and/or improper scavenging preventing the flame front from propagating correctly creating hot spots. Noise has no correlation to HP at any RPM.Īlso, think about your other statement, add more fuel in the low to midrange. and poser you mean acting like a " harley" rider personally 90% of those guys are d-bags and no way do i try to act like them, imo those guys only ride when its nice out, then the only place they ride is like 5 miles down the road to hang out in the harley store parking lot, me on the other hand sell my car or truck every summer and ride just my bike till its starts snowing then ill put it away and ride it whenever the roads are clear enough, a poser is some one who buys up a harley chromes it to the hills and never rides it, and i am not one of those guys Yeah i really dont mind the power loss, i knew when i purchased my bike it wasnt a rocket i was more attracted to the design and appeal of an h2o cooled harley, i just got to have the rumble, and when rods have baffles or mufflers they sound identical to a vtx and thats not what im looking for in a pipe, i just really dont like the way they sound when there idleing with baffles, but as soon as i take the baffs out it gives the rod a sound of its own. In fact I don't expect you to but I do expect you to respect them just as I do yours. Understand, these are my opinions, you don't have to agree with them. The CFR's have a really aggresive sound that I like a lot but I fear that long distance riding would be a problem (for me).

I also like SuperTrapps with and without the disks. Gut your stock pipes and be done with it, zero cost.īTW, I happen to think that Modified SE Slip fits have a very nice sound, louder without being harsh.

Spending over $500 then destroying a perfectly good pipe because you require your ears to bleed is simply foolish IMHO. A CFR pipe without packing will be STUPID loud. My rule of thumb is that if it's so loud that you cause damage to your hearing riding the bike then it's stupid loud. Louder as a function of making more power is a good thing and there are many options to do that without causing permanent hearing loss. Loud, for the simple sake of making noise, is a poser endevour and I got over being a poser 20+ years ago. Louder does not equal more power, in most cases it equals less power (after a point). Click to expand.I make modifications to my bike to make it perform better and to some degree to make it look better.
